Dining room in 1931 Colonial

This was a pandemic project, so we took our time renovating the interior of a white clapboard colonial in Westchester County.  The Dining room in the 1931 Colonial is seen with with a vintage c. 1982 Carrera marble dining table from Maurice Villency, McGuire chairs, and a  vintage Persian Sarouk rug that I have had for ages. The West Elm chandelier is one of the only non-vintage items in the room, York grasscloth wallpaper and Farrow and Ball Stiffkey Blue in gloss on walls finished the color scheme. In the left corner of the room is a Dal Vera Italian sideboard purchased at auction.

Living room in 1931 Colonial

Initially the living room walls were painted a medium blue color by Farrow & Ball. The Sofa and Loveseat, in bright green, are  by Thayer Coggin c. 1988. It was too much with the blue walls so we toned it down. The kazak rug was purchased new, and the slipper chairs in the style of Billy Baldwin were a thrift store find from the 90’s, I have recovered them at least three times. The carrera marble coffee table is a Habitat for Humanity Restore discovery, remarkably matching our dining room table. The prints in the upper right are from 1983, by David Longwood, in celebration of the centennial of the Brooklyn Bridge. Miro lithograph from 1978 hangs over the fireplace.
